Dear colleagues, We are glad to welcome you to the first national prostate cancer symposium organized by the Prostate Task Force of the BSMO. These are exciting times for clinicians and researchers involved in prostate cancer today! We will start off with lectures from 3 renowned international experts : E. Efstathiou, P. Blanchard and B. Tombal. The first 2 speakers will cover the issues of new systemic approaches and modern radiotherapy techniques. Hereafter you will get a concise update on the highlights of ASCO-GU. After the break, the case discussions will offer the possibility to go into depth on some important daily-practice issues in the treatment of prostate cancer patients. We explicitly want to acknowledge the cooperation of colleagues of the national societies of radiotherapy and radiology. Indeed, it goes without saying that prostate cancer is a disease entity that is and should be treated in a multidisciplinary setting. This will undoubtedly be reflected in the talks of this morning. Looking forward to seeing you for an exciting meeting on April 27th, members of the BSMO Prostate Task Force Wim Demey, Jean-Charles Goeminne, Oussama Hamdan, Jean-Pascal Machiels, Gino Pelgrims, Vincent Renard, Brieuc Sautois, Denis Schallier, Dirk Schrijvers, Sylvie Rottey, Filip Van Aelst BSMO President Jacques De Grève
