Sexual diversity and the city – STI & HIV 2021 World Congress – Virtual Edition
Last week we welcomed over 1000 attendees at the very special edition of STI & HIV 2021 World Congress to be held virtually at the RAI Amsterdam from 14 to 17 July 2021. This year’s theme “Sexual diversity and the city” goes along with their mission to address diversity, health and sexuality in the urban context.
Challenge
A four day challenge for the committee to create diversity in program and a challenge for Congress Care in cooperation with ACS Audiovisual Solutions to create the ‘virtual congress experience’. The organizing committee strives for community engagement to bring a unique view to the international STI and HIV audience.
There was a lot of variety in presentation formats to make it an attractive program to attend. Many talkshows, debates, sponsored sessions, poster presentations etcetera.
Online platform
The online platform was already open on July 1st. Participants could visit and delve into over 500 recorded presentations and e-posters from world leading scientists, community key persons and clinicians with an interest in the latest developments in STI & HIV research, prior to the congress.
Thank you
On behalf of the organizing committee, Henry de Vries, President of the International Society for STD Research (ISSTDR), Janet Wilson, President of the International Union against STI (IUSTI) and Congress Care, we would like to thank everybody who attended this World Congress!
