20th Congress of the International Society for Burn Injuries – Virtual edition
Last week we contributed to the organization of the 20th Congress of the International Society for Burn Injuries (ISBI). Initially to be held in Birmingham in collaboration with the British Burn Association (BBA) who’s celebrating her 53rd Annual Meeting this year.
Both associations decided to organize the congress virtual on 14-17 June. Quite a challenge as the ISBI has members all over the world.
Each day, the program was broadcasted in three timezones: 9.00 AM AEST (Australia, S-E Asia), 9.00 AM CEST (Africa, Europe) and 9.00 AM EDT (USA, S-America). All sessions were pre-recorded, added with live Q&A in the timeslot which was convenient for the chairs. All Q&A sessions were recorded and broadcasted in the next timeslot.
We were happy to received more than 400 submitted abstracts. Alle poster and oral presentations were available, on demand, within the online platform. Posters with the abstract and a PDF of the poster and oral presentations with the abstract and a self-recorded videopitch.
We worked together with the company Naves. Their online platform was able to make the connection with our registration and abstract modules (Eventair) which made it easy to import data of delegates and abstracts into the online platform.
All sponsors did join with a virtual booth for which they could deliver product video’s and other promotional materials. Each sponsor could meet with delegates within their own zoom-meeting room.
Proud of the end result!
